It was Hertha who had picked him, solid and sweet and patiently allowing a young Haaral to climb and tumble on and off his back. Where the larger horses would outrun him in open terrain, Guthre was a king among hills and crags, climbing up stoney hills and broken terrain in a mad scramble, graceful as a goat. And he is clever too, always seeming to know where the young manling wants to go, almost as if they were of a mind, as friends oft are.
This was a properly challenging one, as you can see by the ungodly amount of studies we did, but we did it! Really love how this guy ended up, and can’t wait to put him into an illustration 😀
