Down the tunnel

The tunnels were too low for a man to stand upright, so Angrond was bent double as he trotted along in the dark following the lantern and the little man who bore it.

His name was Tallich, though in the peculiar way he spoke the commin speech it came out sounding more like a word broken off midway through, ending with a throat clearing. Having heard of Angrond’s trip and his purpose in undertaking it, the little man had chuckled to himself, shaking his head and scoffed derisvely “So they sent you this way, eh? Big blind fools the lot of them”

As they proceeded deeper into the tunnel, the cold abated, and strange sounds came flowing on a warm breeze along with the lively scent of something cooking.
